Solves that problem. I still think the header is too tall though. Other than that looks ok. I'm trying to make a template for my portfolio currently too, but can't settle for one of my designs. I get so far then decide it's not good enough for my liking.

same here my friend, i have made countless designs, u should see my folder, i made about 10 designs, some crappy some ok, one i used for now on http://www.clarkiidesigns.com is getting boring and it restricts me to what i can do on the site, this new layout has everything i need,

you just need to keep at it and take some inspiration, add a little of others work to make it ur own, you know what i mean, also dont over comlicate things, cos then its just looks overdone, or you may not be able to do anything with it lol
