RE: Which Antivirus?
Well it depends on what you want and if you wanted a free virus scanning software or a paid one.

At this time i use Trend Micro but there is Avast, Avg, Clam-av which are free. how old is the pc and what os do you have. That might
work Also i don't think Kaspersky would slow down your pc to the point you are talking about. I would kinda guess something else is slowing the pc down AKA Spyware or some bad registry entries.

RE: Which Antivirus?
I have kaspersky at the moment. and it appears to only put a strain on my cpu (running on crappy old, 1 core processors) but i usually let it do a scan at night when im asleep so i dont notice.. the background protection doesnt really slow my computer down..

i used avast and avg and those, there pretty good and they dont put a drain on your resources...

also if you wanna. speed your computer somewhat.. i suggest installing Advanced System Care

http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html

its does everything from correcting regestry, optimising internet.. and system optimisation, also it has a feature that helps with RAM and stuff

RE: Which Antivirus?
Panda Cloud anti virus is pretty easy on the processor useage. but the latest avast isn't bad either now. avast has always been good just the interface was truely awful but thats fixed up now.

I do reccomend though if you get avast then as soon as you've installed it go onto its settings panel and turn the sounds off Wink
