Double MySQL servers
I have a problem here.I am using Wamp server,I reinstalled Wamp after uninstalling it to try Xaamp.I have completely removed all of the Xaamp files.Recently,I opened my phpmyadmin directory and discovered an error message which hinted to me that there were two MY SQL servers installed on my computer(please refer to http://i89.servimg.com/u/f89/13/69/31/58/sql_mi10.jpg ). I was using an older version of the MY SQL server before I uninstalled it. I am now using a later version. What could be the cause of this error?Could someone please help me?Huh

How is it you actually uninstalled xampp did you go through the uninstaller or did you just delete the files?

If you just deleted the files then you most likely have to uninstall the MySql server from your services.

Your best bet would be to uninstall wamp properly then remove all web server services from your PC then try reinstall wamp again.
Also the error is saying that you have the older version installed double check the wamp specifications so as you know witch version is with wamp therefore you can remove the other.

RE: Double MySQL servers
Well all that error is telling you is to change the password of the root account (easiest via phpMyAdmin)

If thats not the only problem, it may be that you didnt uninstall the instance of mysql when you was removing wamp or xampp?

RE: Double MySQL servers
could be that when you installed mysql the first time you installed it as a service but never removed the service before uninsalling
