Google Chrome Out of Beta
Well it looks like Chrome has gone Gold and is now a 1.0 release.

http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2008/12/g...-beta.html

I have it installed on my Windows XP partition, but I use trunk builds of Firefox currently on that side. I must say though, it has greatly improved since the betas. The team behind it worked fast and it's stable, but until plugin support and scripting become up to speed with Firefox, I'm going to stick with Firefox.

To download you can either go to http://google.com/chrome/ or go to the about window in chrome and download it. It should also do it automatically eventually.

RE: Google Chrome Out of Beta
I don't think Gmail will be out of beta Big Grin

It likes sort of the same as the betas. A little faster, doesn't crash as much. There's a bookmark manager. There's probably going to be plugins soon.

Finally.

I loved the way you could just switch the windows around but it was just too buggy.

Thanks.

RE: Google Chrome Out of Beta
Well I think the biggest reason they took it out of beta is because of OEMs. An OEM like Dell won't preload something that's "beta" software. If they take that off, they got a chance to have it preinstalled. That's how IE smashed Netscape into oblivion way back when.

RE: Google Chrome Out of Beta
Hi darkfate,
I am glad to hear about it. Chrome is one of the best browsers that I liked as it provides a very convenient environment to work in. I am going to upgrade it today itself. Thanks for providing the information. Keep up the good work going and stay connected.

RE: Google Chrome Out of Beta
When you switch to the BETA version of Google Chrome you will always get the latest speed and feature updates. Please note that you can only have one version of Google Chrome at a time.
