VCD player won't read burnt vcds!
I recently burnt(Created) two type of vcds. One of them has video files in .dat format. One of them has files in mpeg format. Both of them are in pal formats.I tried playing them on my allike vcd player. It returned me a message saying: "no disc".I looked at the video files of those vcds that were locally purchased and could be read by this vcd player. The files all had the .dat format.I do not know why mine could not be read with similar folders, similar formats, everything similar.Furthermore, copied vcds from purchased ones can't be read on this player as well. The vcds which cannot be read by my alllike player could be read by vcd players from other brands like jvc.Could someone please redress this problem?

oh i understand,
What type of disc are you burning onto? include the + or - R/RW bit some players are picky on disc type, for max compatibility -R is the best to use ![]() Web Hosting | Shoutcast Servers | Custom Solutions |

i guess the only thing you can do is swap it for a different brand.
Some branded players are particularly known for not accepting copies (depending on local law where the player is made it may have to deny any copies at all even if its going to be sold in another country) In the UK many pannosonic DVD players will not play copies however other brands such as Alba will always play any copy you give it. How long have you had the player? if its new you could try swap it at the store ![]() Web Hosting | Shoutcast Servers | Custom Solutions |

CD making companies will use software that you wont be able to get your hands on, it probably dosn't run on windows either.
If you have access to another computer try burning the disc using a different cd writter and see if it works. sorry i can't reccomend any vcd burners as I never use VCD, why don't you have a DVD player? they are just as cheap and the better quality you obtain is well worth the small extra on the discs. ![]() Web Hosting | Shoutcast Servers | Custom Solutions |
