Beta testing shoutcast servers

Hey there I set up my first ever shoutcast server a long time ago when I was still in early high school days for some fun.

Since then I have figured myself as not much of a DJ but was quite a natural coder and have become a frequent freelance web developer, as I host the sites I develop for my clients I now have my own web server and was wondering what I could use my extra resources for. My early shoutcast memories came back to me but I am now on the host side, the side I'm better at.

So over the last few days I've built a control panel from scratch, here are a few screen shots:










At first I'll be looking for a few beta testers, this means you'll get a 24/7 shoutcast server that you can use and control.

Unlike other hosts I'm going to offer a set amount of bandwidth and then you are free to broadcast any bitrate you like, so lower bitrates would use less bandwidth but better sounding higher bitrates will use more bandwidth. However you can choose to restrict your server to only allow connections under a certain bitrate if you are allowing the server for use by other DJs

Plus your only data being sent to listeners is monitored so if you are streaming with no listeners then no bandwidth will be used up.

Once the beta test is over the testers can continue to have a free service for a further 2 months and other users can then either pay a small fee for bandwidth or post at byteforums for bandwidth.
