Fucking Microshit
Hey Bytes,

Today I was playing GTA IV on my Xbox 360 Elite, like I always do. But today, something happened... can you guess? Two red rings showed up Angry

I found out that 2 isn't the RRoD though, which was good. Just overheated, right? So I waited around 6-7 hours, turned it on again, played CoD4 for about 15min, and it turned off again! So now I am in the process of trying a few things...

1. Turn my 400$ machine horizontally, not vertical
2. Put a fan on the back of my 400$ machine
3. If those simple things fail... send it in to Microsuck

I am very mad about this, the 400$ machine is not supposed to do this, they said the Elite fixed all these ring problems... I just hate spending money on a shit product.

RE: Fucking Microshit
not heard of it happening on an elite but i sure would reccomend always running it horizontal to stop the disk drive problems and always have the fan on when possible.

if microsoft ask then tell them it was horizontall but dont tell them it had an extra fan incase they blame extra dust being blown in.

good luck!

RE: Fucking Microshit
A friend of mine didn't have a problem with the ring of light, it was the disk tray. It sort of broke itself. Something about one side pulling faster than the other, I'm not sure exactly but it's happened twice. For me though I've had the two red lights and I just left it and went to work, came back and it was fine. Though mine isn't and Elite.

If quizzes are quizzical..............what does that make a test?

they sell the fans aswell, they are to cool the system, if you dont buy one you have a higher risk of it overheating.. lol and also there are thousands of holes all over the casing to let dust out lol, so im not sure theyll blame you for that

sometimes it overheats and the red lights come up, i believe if you have 2 its not so bad, maybe a minor over heating, just leave it and itll be fine, but if you have 3 then youll have to get it repaired.. many indenpant game stores can fix 360's these days

myself i have an elite, and have not had this problem yet. possible becuase i dont leave it on for copeous amounts of time or store it in a very confined space where it can over hear quickly and also becuase i bought a fan for mine lol

RE: Fucking Microshit
Putting it horizontally has fixed the problem! ^^ I guess I'll give Microsoft a break... for now.

RE: Fucking Microshit
I want a PS3, so I can play the new Metal Gear Solid game, but it costs too much... it was either the 360 or the PS3 for me, not both Sad Also PS3 network is free, so that would help. Anyways, I am a noob, I didn't think the position of the machine would affect the heating conditions, but I guess it does o.0
