General List of Safe Programs?
Sorry, the title looks really, really vague -_-

Anyways, I was wondering what programs I should be downloading to be protected from malware threats; I've only been using NOD32 on a daily basis to keep me protected, but if I was to reformat my computer what kind of programs should I install that are strong enough to protect me from new threats but lightweight enough so that my computer doesn't slow down dramatically?

Thanks! Smile

I use: Avast!, Spyware Blaster, and Ad-Aware SE Personal, and I think I have Peer Guardian but it's not on...

RE: General List of Safe Programs?
antiVIR is a good lightweight anti virus.

comodo firewall is light weight enough as long as defence+ isn't turned on (basically stops any of your programs from doing anything)

You can add the exe to the trusted programs list and it won't give you anything.

RE: General List of Safe Programs?
Well NOD32 is a very go all around program. Im pretty sure its the most light weight program for being Anti Virus in memory usage. Also the best Pro active protection you can get.

If you were to reformat and you wanted to go with free programs. Also as a heads up, Comodo is not the number 1 free firewall anymore. I was quite shocked when I heard this, a firewall by the name of Online Armor.

Anti-Virus
avast! 4 Home Edition

Anti-Spyware Real Time
SpywareGuard

Anti-Spyware On Demand Scanner
SUPERAntiSpyware

Firewall
Online Armor

Protection from "bad" sites
SpywareBlaster
