is this a diplomacy? no. Its a Microsoft-Ocracy. It's their OS... you aren't forced to use it. Thats what linux distros are for... or hell, macs' for all you mac fanboys.

I'm hardly a Microshit fanboy... but theres no use in trying to control whats in their software or soon all software will be controlled with lawsuits. Hell, I'll sue MYBB for putting this Post Reply button on the left right below where i'm typing... instead of on the right. I Want It On The Right! That Gives Lefties An Unfair Advantage!!!. jk.

we put it there.. not mybb.

@nevercracker, opera do make money by people using their browser. when people download they visit the opera site which has adverts.
opera also gives webspace for its users that can be ad supported.

web browsers are a big business nowadays

I was speaking generically of course.

Fine. I'm going to sue subway for giving me subway napkins. Maybe I wanted blank napkins without their logo. Maybe their napkins have an unfair advantage.

you didn't put those napkins there, now did you?

get my point now? its rediculous.

ah but the point is the napkins arn't forced on you. not sure if they are where you live but we pick up the napkins, if we want one, whereas a windows user has to use internet explorer the first time they use the internet, even if its just to download another browser.

no one is shoving a napkin in our face. i'm not picking sides here i'm just trying to show both sides of the argument. plus internet explorer isn't even that good Big Grin

Ok, they do make a tiny amount of money, but not much. It might make a small difference, but Microsoft does have every right to release their browser with their operating system.

a tiny amount of money now, but what if the whole world used opera and had opera as their homepage.

they do have the right, but there should also be an option for other browsers too.

Of course, I agree 100%. And users have that option, they can easily download another browser online. But if they don't know what a browser is in the first place, they probably don't need another browser Wink And most people don't know what a browser is, they think Internet Explorer IS the Internet Tongue

so the case will probably be won due to the courts lack of knowledge "zomg! a new interwebs?" and microsoft has money to spare anyway lol.

RE: Internet explorer to be kicked out of windows
The courts are really dumb. I don't know about in the EU, but here we get the most bogus cases. For example, one guy got the source code to a DUI Breathalyzer because he said he didn't know if the thing was accurate or not. This is just to get out of one DUI mind you. Anyone past 50 has a problem with computers anyways. I tried to get my grandpa to use one, and it was impossible for him to stop looking at the mouse when he moved it (since they're used to looking at the pencil as they write or while them move something with their hands).

The key to life is sincerity. Once you can fake that, you’ve got it made. - Groucho Marx
