HTML noob Help Me!!!
I have a problem, my site ends up like this
![]() so help me Baisicly im trying to use frames, the top banner, navigation bar, and the small amount of text are allo in individual <td> cells, the top banner is in it's own <tr> while the other two are in the same <tr> The navigation bar is a table within the table but I dont think that is the problem. I tried to use colspan on the top one but it isn't working. Code: <table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="800">Just a summary of the code I left out the body and html tags along with the head code (as I said, I am a complete HTML noob so I know almost nothing; so speak slowly and clearly with small words; thanks for any help) (I feel naked without a siganture) |

RE: HTML noob Help Me!!!
The problem is I dont know how to do layers in html, and what i know of css is very little.
I did, however get it in the right place but now I cant get the margins right like within the table. If your willing to teach me how to do the layers and css stuff I'll definitly use it. (I feel naked without a siganture) |

RE: HTML noob Help Me!!!
Start learning about div's and stuff. It's not really something you just teach someone. Just like html it's not really programming so there isn't much to be taught. It's just using it and learning to apply it.
Just go out and start learning. Google around and you will get it. Just start your site from scratch and build it slowly using divs. If you need to make simpler things first. |

osu191 Wrote:Thanks guys I'll try lol. Personally, dreamweaver as i use it for PHP and design. Er, frontpage or.... whats it called now, expression by MS is known to be good but i only saw its main advantage in the creation of tables. But it is now fully XHTML and CSS compliant... RE: HTML noob Help Me!!!
I do reccomend that in your spare time you learn how to do all of this from scratch. On windows I use notepad++ and linux I just use the standard editors.
All I really need is the syntax highlighting but notepad++ has some nice features for finding the end of your function. I do everything this way but that is just me, and I am still learning web languages anyways. |

RE: HTML noob Help Me!!!
Well I didn't redesign it yet but it is up and running (I'm not getting too elaborate with it); but give me some opinions (still trying to clean up the code, I have a lot of tags I need remove.
CRAPPY HOST!!! http://ok20001jrotc.webng.com/ On a few pages I'm using <br /> for positioning which causes a display issue in opera for some reason.(I'm working on using css relative positioning but I'm lazy) Also to view my extremely limited use of css http://ok20001jrotc.webng.com/css/all.css (I feel naked without a siganture) |
