They were thinking about the touch screen element
PSP's sony, they've lost alot of sales thinking people are going to fork out 400 quid on a games console.
DS has more staying power too, better games, better accesories etc.

i do agree the DS is a better console but theres still money to be made by game developers on the PSP platform.
