The title pretty much sums the thing up.. when i do something "critical" with my graphics card, like scrolling a webpage or minimizing/maximizing windows and such no-big-deals, the audio (from audio players such as vlc or wmp) stops for a half second, then resumes playback like ten seconds further in to the song.
People tell me it has something to do with the hardware buffer or something, but idk.
Question: do i have to spend $$$ to upgrade my hardware or is there some way around this?

The beta has been out a while now so I feel happy to say that i'm pleased with it. I've tried to put it through its paces a bit but it hasn't failed me yet! Plays games a treat too Dxdiag says its running DirectX 11 but runs all my games fine which are all made for x 9/10

The new window manipulation features are for sure the ones i use most heres a quick video i made of it in action:

http://www.screentoaster.com/watch/stVUx...tdRlVUU1Je

unfortunatly the aero theme got turned off when i started the recorder so it looks a bit jumpy but i assure you its as smooth as possible normally.

Its still possible to get free beta keys for a few more days so i reccomend grabbing one while its still open by going to the windows 7 website

..is actually quite pleasing!

My XP install got corrupted so i installed vista this time to try it out, and after reading what a lot of people had to say about it i'm nicely surprised.

The aero theme is not worth the hype it gets as after a few minutes of "wow the title bar is semi transparent" i lost the thrill, dont get me wrong though its quite a nice touch.

One thing i did have to do though is turn off "User account control"

Hi. I have read through countless forums about this problem and have found no soulution. So i thought i would post my own thread.

This problem only started happening recently. When i go on utorrent now i can upload/download for a good hour or more but then a red arrow apears beside all my torrents, no matter what the tracker is. The tracker status says "connection closed by peers"
This problem has really stumped me and any help with this problem will be much much appreciated.

Some things I have already tried:
updating my torrent client
trying other clients
ensuring my port is correctly forwarded

Some info that might be useful:
I do not use a router
I use Mcafee security suite
It happens with all torrents.
Thanks Herasy

Well like the title says my comp wont resume after going into standby with 2gb of ram installed.

Ive tried going into standby with only one of the sticks (1gb) installed and it works properly but with 2 all i get is a black screen and whirring fan upon resume.

I haven't tested both sticks separately yet, only the one which seems to work fine. I'll get onto testing the other asap but it takes a while as it seems to only hang after its been in standby for +5 minutes or so, if you standby then resume immediately it works fine.

Ive ran memtest on both sticks for 5+ hours with no errors, but haven't tested them individually with memtest.

Also I bluescreen after hibernation T_T.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any issues caused by windows with 2gb ram, or anything else that might be causing this before I spend hours running memtest, testing each stick individually, etc.

If windows f**ks up one more time, I'm switching to Linux. Here is my reckoning:

XP, its a pain in the arse to set up. In most other OS's I don't have to unplug and plug in a network card 10+ times to install it.

XP is very innefficient in its memory usage and CPU usage. This prones your computer to the dreaded Blue Screen of Death.

All versions of Windows create unnecessary cache stores, which chug up your hardware space faster than I could drink a pint of beer.

It is VERY buggy. I am using Vista, and I recently reinstalled it due to the fact that the disk cleanup utility (that removes a lot of the cache space) removed every single f**king file on my harddrive. Including Windows itself.

If it screws up one more time, its full-time Linux for me.

Before vista came out, I was doing some reading on the offical site. When is listed upgrades, it said that people with Windows XP Pro x64 would need a clean install of vista, but a better version of vista would be available to people who run 64bit systems.

Now after release there are x64 upgrade versions of Vista, my question is this, will it upgrade from x64 pro to x64 vista? Or would it only work upgrading x86 (32bit) xp to x64 vista?

If anyone has tried and could share any experience. I know the best place to check would be the microsoft site, but come on, its microsoft, vista has enough bugs without worrying about versions.

(I could not find a better forum to put this in but if I'm just blind let me know and move it)

I have roughly 95 ft of Ethernet ran from one end of my house to the other, it is not shielded but it has no splices or breaks in the line. This line uses the twisted pairs that consist of

Green StripedGreen Blue StripedBlue Brown StripedBrown Orange StripedOrange

This line is ran from my dads room(where the router line goes in), down the side of the house, along an iron beam, out then back into my room. At each end we have it wired to wall sockets that do not have the same pair colors as the line. First we used a conversion chart that tells what line is equivalent to but it did not work. (both ends were wired this way, as I mean for it to be a patch cable) I then wired both ends the same but disregarding the chart. That also didn't work.

I already checked if it was my router or not by going directly off the modem, that also didn't work.

So what I'm wondering is the line just to long, is it the ends, or am i just being retarded?
I always thought that Ethernet could be ran at least 100 meters.

Please help me

Help, my computer is slow!!!

Has your PC been running slow lately? If it has, and is not being caused my malware then follow these steps to help it get back to its better state.

Step 1
The more start up items you have on your PC, the slower it is overall. These items can be seen as 04 entries in a HJT log. Fixing them will just prevent them from your startup, there fore increasing your boot up time, and increasing your overall PC performance.

Here are some links to where you can research your 04's.
http://www.castlecops.com/StartupList.html
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/
http://www.processlibrary.com/
http://www.windowsstartup.com/wso/search.php

Step 2
ATF Cleaner cleans temporary files from IE and Windows, empties the recycle bin and more. Great tool to help speed up your computer and knock out malware that like to reside in the temp folders.
